Somewhat Daily Happenings of an Intern Architect

4.08.2005

Watch out

I'm on a roll.

I actually had a hard time spelling "watch". It is 4:00 Friday.

Well, I am now 55% architect. I got results for yet another test. Only four more to go. Good times.

I tried to find a sound byte from Napolean Dynamite that is in wav. format so I can set it to notify me when I have email. No luck. All of the sound bytes were mp3 formats. If you know how to save a mp3 file to a wav file, or if you have found free downloadable ND wav files, let me know. Presently my notification is tweetybird. It'll do.

So, tonight's a big night. Celebrating the passing of another test with my husband at Chili's - Boneless Buffalo Wings ... what a treat. And then shopping for the new vacuum. My life is incredibly exciting. I know people are envious.

I have a funny feeling that my blog is only being read by my two younger sisters. Maybe I should give it up. I am 31. Maybe that is too old to be blogging. Who knows. I certainly don't have the adventures that Desiree has. Hmmmm.

Has anyone seen American Splendor? I have it to watch.

work is boring ... blah blah blah

I'm pretty sure all the people linked off of my and Summer's blogs read your blog. We read everyones. It's very sad.

And I'm pretty sure Josh could help you on the file conversion. I'll get him to post instructions.

Desirée asked me to post instructions :) Converting from a mp3 file to a wave file is a very simple procedure if you have the right software; basically any sound editing programme can do it. I personally would recommend GoldWave; you can get it from www.goldwave.com; just get the "free" version - it will do everything you need. Just download and install it, and then run goldwave. Open the MP3 file, and then File>Save As, change the file type to WAV and you're set.
Another option is to use WinAmp; www.winamp.com - WinAmp comes with a DiskWriter plug-in; you can open the MP3 file in winamp, set the diskwriter as the output and press play; WinAmp will spit out a WAV file as the result.
There's many other ways to convert between these two formats; MP3 and WAV are the most interchangable formats ever; they're both industry standards, so conversion between them is easy. If neither of these work, then just let us know, and I could even write you up a little application to do the conversion for you.
